Another day of CD Writing… 🙂 A bit tired. The f.p. is going rather well. A bit of an explanation: I made a female “persona” so that I could register for a dating site (for fun). It’s (or rather she’s) going rather well, she already has 14 messages 😉 I’m not probably going to do much more with her, I’m already feeling a bit of guilt of exploiting these “poor” men that are sending messages to her. Then again… 🙂

Today all my batteries emptied together! My mobile is now recharging, as well as my nomad. At last, the Creative Labs store has the Wired FM Remote in stock. I’m hesitating a little to buy direct from Creative, because there are many more sites with better prices.

The Irresistable DVD came today. I still get to keep the erroneous DVD (The Conversation). Talk about pull 🙂 I tried to loan it to a coworker, and she did get the DVD case, but the DVD itself was not in there :|. Oh well. I guess I’ll loan it to her tomorrow (just for the suffering she had to endure :))

Perhaps I should alter the format of these blogs (bloggings? blog entries?). I write in bursts, so it’s not “right” to enter the time as well. This should be 30/1/2003 #4 perhaps. Oh well, I’ll think more about it when I have created some kind of database, instead of plain text such as I’m writing right now.

A thought just occurred… Other people look back at their youth and remember all the extreme things they did. I’m gonna look back and see only the long hours of IRC/ICQ/Msgr etc… While they’re cool, they’re a bit less than extreme…

Many more CD’s to go… Meanwhile, the first (of many) DVD/book orders has arrived. It was from open24.gr but there was an error on the “main” DVD I bought (I mean the DVD that urged me to buy 5… Am I weird?). Luckily I’m mr. Big on open24.gr, so I’m getting what I asked for, AND I’m keeping the extra DVD!

Third day on a row… How much more can I keep this up? A week perhaps? The weekend is probably the critical point… So I’ll let personal info and such for later (as a motive :))

That figures! 5.1 (or 5 channels, or whatever) in .AVI. VirtualDub don’t work! Back to Vidomi.

Seems Farscape is mostly 1 CD Length… The problem with Raptor is that he has to have the ultimate-super-extreme quality everything! So it makes it very difficult for the rest of us to do anything with anything he passes on, without tweaking it and downgrading it… Oh well! At least they’re .AVIs, so a simple virtualdub should do the trick!

Back from work… Another meeting in which everybody just _assumes_ that everything is first priority… Oh well. The good news: A component for DB Connectivity is 60% ready. It still needs a lot of work (and of course 10% of the work will take the other 90% of the time;) ), but it should be as easy as advertised.

My Amazon order is on its way, as well as my open24.gr order. I also have “V” today, and Farscape so I’m gonna let it rip! 🙂

Happier today, I seem. Oh! And it’s the second day I manage to scribble something in the blog :). Off to rip some stuff!

It’s nice to prove yourself wrong only 7 minutes later 🙂

I tried out the “blog” program I downloaded… I’m supposed to be a programmer, I can do better than that! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a quite good program. But I gotta have more control than plain text files! 🙂 The problem is, if I try to make such a program myself, I’ll get lost in the details… So for the time being, I’ll just use my old faithful TextPad. If only it had a function to insert date AND time together!

It might be time to shed some light on me (who am I and the such, but why spoil the mystery? :)). I’m too bored right now to really get into these stuff…

I hope there will be a tomorrow. Anyhow, the nice thing about recently purchasing a Creative Nomad 3 is that you can move files such as this text around. If only the drivers saw it as another hard drive (so that I could edit ON the device instead of transferring files from here to there)

Ok, I just have the glimmer of an idea of the first spec of netblog… It should be in .exe format (of course!), it should have an offline database, but it should connect to an online database (maybe at brinkster?) so that it should be the same wherever I go. (Like I’m really going to make something like that!)

I lead a boring life.

What did I do today? Spent the morning troubleshooting eurobank.gr and spent the whole midday/afternoon in a meeting where most of the marketing and my supervisors feel the urge to kill the only thing that makes open24.gr appealling. I’m the first to support usability and the such, but Greece has no remote buying tradition, so the only way to keep users is giving them something to play. Granted, the “e-city” of open24.gr seems a lot more fun when in demos than in real use, but as I always said, if you don’t build them, they won’t come.

Ok, so I’m not THAT disappointed. Maybe I’m just tired. 5 straight hours of a meeting do that to you…

I gotta make a demo of the open24 admin thingy (there’s another word I seem to like lately!).

Raptor (JimR) just called about Abyss (!). Sorry man, I don’t have it. I think. 🙂 Maybe I should 🙂

Oh well. Enough for today. I don’t really think I’m going to get through with this thing, but never hurts to try 🙂
